Morgan Starr Wins Tommy Tune Award


Congratulations to Klein Oak Theatre’s Morgan Starr, a junior IB student, Best Supporting Actress recipient at TUTS’ 10th Annual Tommy Tune Awards April 17 at the Hobby Center! Morgan played Smitty in Klein Oak’s 2012 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Morgan was featured in the Tommy Tune Award opening song and dance number, alongside 9-time Tony Award winner Tommy Tune and Klein Oak’s nominees Ryne Nardecchia (J. Pierrepont Finch), Aubrey Reece (Rosemary Pilkington) and Alex Shrode (J.B. Biggley).  Nominated for “Best Musical,” the Klein Oak musical cast was also featured in their performance of “Brotherhood of Man” on the Hobby Center’s Sarofim stage. The evening closed with a musical number featuring Tom Coyne (Bud Frump) and Jennifer Egan (Hedy LaRue).

Klein Oak is proud of Morgan’s accomplishment, and the outstanding work of all our cast, crew and directors, who together garnered 13 nominations at the celebration that recognized the work of the 44 participating high schools in our area.
